Orthodox makers only — every shop is reviewed before it opens
About Stikarry

The Home for all things Orthodox.

Stikarry is a marketplace where every shop belongs to an Orthodox Christian, monastery, mission or parish. It is not a general marketplace with a church section — it is a place for the things that fill an Orthodox home and temple, made and sold by the people who pray with them.

The name

The name comes from the stikhar (sticharion), the long vestment worn by every rank of clergy and by those who serve in the altar. Vesting in it, the server prays: “My soul shall rejoice in the Lord, for He hath clothed me with the garment of salvation.”

How seller review works

Anyone can apply to open a shop. Each application names the seller’s parish or monastery and a reference — a parish priest, abbot or bishop’s office. We contact that reference before the shop opens. Shops that stop meeting this standard are paused.

Honest about how it’s made

Every listing must say whether it is hand-painted, handmade, a mounted print, or sourced from another maker. Icons in particular are labeled, so you always know whether you are buying an icon painted by hand or a reproduction.
